7-6-22   THOUGHTS

Each of us experiences difficulties in this life.  The Bible has much to say about that part of our lives.  We are encouraged to grow and maintain faith and hope in these times.  Sometimes our suffering is the direct result of our being a disciple of Christ.  Whatever the reason or whatever the nature of our trials, giving up is not contemplated!  You will not find that idea anywhere below!  Read Rom 8:35 through the end of that chapter.  Some of you are currently bearing much difficulty in your lives.  Know that you are loved and prayed for by your brethren!

Jas 1:1-4    James, a bond-servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes who are dispersed abroad: Greetings.  2  Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, 3  knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. 4  And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
Jas 1:12   Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which [the Lord] has promised to those who love Him.
Matt 5:10-12   "Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 11  "Blessed are you when people insult you and persecute you, and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of Me.  12  "Rejoice and be glad, for your reward in heaven is great; for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
Acts 5:41  So they went on their way from the presence of the Council, rejoicing that they had been considered worthy to suffer shame for His name.
Rom 8:17-18    and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him. 18  For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Rom 8:36-37   Just as it is written, "FOR YOUR SAKE WE ARE BEING PUT TO DEATH ALL DAY LONG; WE WERE CONSIDERED AS SHEEP TO BE SLAUGHTERED."  37  But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.
2Cor 12:9-10   And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of   Christ may dwell in me. 10  Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.
1Pet 4:13-16   but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that also at the revelation of His glory you may rejoice with exultation. 14  If you are reviled for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 15  Make sure that none of you suffers as a murderer, or thief, or evildoer, or a troublesome meddler; 16  but if anyone suffers as a Christian, he is not to be ashamed, but is to glorify God in this name.

My Prayer:
Father, we have many loved ones who are struggling today with difficult or disheartening circumstances.  Be with each, and comfort and strengthen them.  May their faith and inner power sustain them to growth in You.  O God, be our rock and our comfort always.  As we lean on You, draw us to You!  Thank You for hope eternal.  In Jesus name,        Amen..
